I’m 26 today. After work I’m going to hang out with my husband and my best friend. We’re going to watch classic science fiction movies and eat sushi and ice cream. It’s going to be a good day.
26 sounded like a good age to me when I was younger. I thought it would be a perfect age to get married at. I’m a little ahead on that goal. I’m a bit slow on some others. I figured I’d be a best-selling novelist by now. I haven’t even finished a novel, let alone sold one. I never thought that I’d writing short fiction. I couldn’t have dreamed of the wonderful network of friends that I have.
I don’t have the house on the lake or shelves full of books with my name on the spine, but what I do have is amazing, and 26 is going to be a good year.
